Description
Three Brothers - winter landscape with a lonely house standing on the snowy fields of the taiga, with a wolf and a hooded crow on the banks of a creek. An original artwork from the 'Runaway Houses' series by illustrator and writer Moira Risen.
'Three Brothers
There are three historic dwelling buildings standing side by side In Old Town Riga, Latvia, – they’ve been called the Three Brothers for centuries. This house is based on the middle one of them, a charmingly crooked medieval townhouse from 1646. I resettled it to a small creek on the taiga – everyone can make up their own story about the friendship of the wolf, the hooded crow and the house…
This image is one of the 12 pieces from my collection titled Runaway Houses. The series portrays imaginary old buildings in different historic architectural styles from all around the world - but instead of their original urban environment they are placed in a natural setting that is typical in the neighborhood of their place of origin.
The series was inspired by one of my favorite books from my childhood, a story of Norwegian writer Tor Age Bringsvaerd about an old house that is rescued by birds from demolition.'
All pieces are available as framed, acrylic and metal print in different sizes.
If ordering on a puzzle you can customize the crop of the print according to your personal taste during the ordering process.
