Description
The Pink House - original artwork from the 'Runaway Houses' series by illustrator and writer Moira Risen.
A colonial neoclassical building from Old Havana, Cuba, set on a sandy beach in the Caribbean, surrounded by pink flamingos.
'The Pink House
Havana’s old town is full of baroque and neoclassical style architectural treasures – though, except some buildings in the central core, usually in a very sad, rundown condition. I thought this pink colonial house would enjoy a new setting on a white sanded beach of the Caribbean Sea, accompanied by a couple of pink flamingos, just to fit the general ambience ;)
This image is one of the 12 pieces from my collection titled Runaway Houses. The series portrays imaginary old buildings in different historic architectural styles from all around the world - but instead of their original urban environment they are placed in a natural setting that is typical in the neighborhood of their place of origin.
The series was inspired by one of my favorite books from my childhood, a story of Norwegian writer Tor Age Bringsvaerd about an old house that is rescued by birds from demolition.'
All pieces are available as framed, acrylic and metal print in different sizes.
If ordering on a puzzle you can customize the crop of the print according to your personal taste during the ordering process.
