Lillian Burk Meeser is known as one of the originators of modern decorative still life and for founding the Detroit Society of Women Painters & Sculptors. Her still lifes portray wonderful, whimsical arrangements of china figures, vases and bowls, flowers of vibrant colors, flying birds, prints and paintings of geishas, with vivid tapestries, carpets and drapes in the background.
