Description
Outbackyard - a victorian terraced house from Australia - a small white house with beautiful wrought iron lacework, set somewhere in the outback around the red rock territory of Devils's Marbles. An original artwork from the 'Runaway Houses' series by illustrator and writer Moira Risen.
'Outbackyard
One of the things Australia is often associated with is the ancient ‘red-center’ region of the Outback: the vast territory of wild, dry red lands with randomly occurring strange rock formations. And one of the things Australia is rarely associated with is the fine examples of Victorian architecture: the terraced buildings from Sidney and Melbourne, with their amazingly delicate iron lacework and richly decorated facades. I added a Major Mitchell’s cockatoo as well :).
This image is one of the 12 pieces from my collection titled Runaway Houses. The series portrays imaginary old buildings in different historic architectural styles from all around the world - but instead of their original urban environment they are placed in a natural setting that is typical in the neighbourhood of their place of origin.
The series was inspired by one of my favorite books from my childhood, a story of Norwegian writer Tor Age Bringsvaerd about an old house that is rescued by birds from demolition.'
All pieces are available as framed, acrylic and metal print in different sizes.
If ordering on a puzzle you can customize the crop of the print according to your personal taste during the ordering process.
