Description
The Malagasy comet moth – also known as moon moth – is probably one of the most beautiful lepidopterans; and with a wingspan of 20 cm it is definitely one of the largest moths. It’s a dimorphic species: males have a lot longer tail while females have a bit rounder and broader wings. The adults of this nocturnal moths can not feed: they live from the supplies built up as caterpillar before – that lasts only five to six days, so they only mate and lay eggs during their short lives.
A few years ago I started a wildlife conservation-environmental awareness poster project called ‘12images’ - you can find more details and information about it on my blog: http://www.12images.net/endangered-and-extinct-animals/12-images-for-environmental-awareness/.
I started with two 12 piece series featuring already extinct and critically endangered animals and I plan to continue the project with more collections from time to time - this Madagascar series is the first I added. All the new collections will be available as I finish them.
PLEASE, BE AWARE, THAT AS THESE POSTERS ARE PROJECT RELATED, THE 12IMAGES.NET COPYRIGHT NOTICE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE POSTERS IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE DESIGN AND WILL BE PRINTED ON THE POSTERS YOU PURCHASE.
My whole profit from any sales of these series goes to the Sea Shepherd to support their fight to save our oceans and marine wildlife. For now, you can purchase only wall prints and some products here on FAA/pixel, but I created several design variations more suitable for t-shirts etc. - they are available through my website: please visit http://www.12images.net.
