Casson's depictions of the more settled areas of southern Ontario set his work apart from the preferred material of other Group of Seven members. His unique painting style is characterized by graceful lines, carefully considered compositions and fine patterns.
Casson was the youngest member of the Group of Seven, an influential art movement of Canadian landscape painters from 1920-33. He joined the original seven members in 1926.
His painting style is characterized by clear colors and backgrounds, he's best known for his depictions of landscapes and villages of southern Ontario.
